Josh Dykgraaf is an Australian photographic manipulation artist – originally trained in graphic design and photography. His work features pieces digitally reconstructed from his photography of natural landscapes and flora. Originally coming from a background in advertising and commercial illustration, this has informed his visual sense enabling him to dedicate far more of his life to his art in recent years.
Josh’s real passion though is creating things that have an impact on people. All the effort is worth it when he sees someone double-take at his work or has a visible emotional reaction to the piece, positive or negative. The buzz he gets from that moment can keep him going for days, imagining the viewer reconsidering the limits of the world or just investigating the details of his work.
