Reuben Negrón’s work is rooted in the examination of his own life experiences, as well as those of the people and places he depicts. Intrigued by what is hidden from public view, his paintings and drawings offer an intimate examination of the vulnerable qualities that often define who we are. His work consists of rich, contemplative scenes, grounded in the complex themes of memory, identity, sexuality, isolation, and mental health.
