About the artist.
Berk Günay is a visual artist currently living in Istanbul. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Berk is an artist who combines figurative realism with abstract elements and creates his own atmosphere. He expresses his inner world with surrealist and symbolist values in his works. He is using occult and spiritual issues for his art to create a reality beyond the reality we are in.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
Berk believes that memories are references to emotions, but our minds always miscode information because that’s the way the human brain works.
The emotions we feel come to us through these corrupted records. So it is these faulty memories that are stored in our souls. So what is the truth? What is important? Isn’t it the memories that make you live in the moment? Berk questions our intuition, the source of our feelings, and the price to pay for spiritual enlightenment.
