About the artist
Reinhard Riedel has been involved with art throughout his life, starting with the advanced course in high school. After studying computer science and mathematics, he was 4 decades in senior positions in the IT sector.
After retiring for 2 years, he wants to professionalize his hobby.
In painting but especially in sculpture he has perfected his artisan skills. He can now use the different techniques and materials so that they support his ideas in the overall composition of the work of art.
Reinhard Riedel’s style is figurative. The focus is always on the youthful and feminine beauty in its perfection and transience. As a father of a daughter, all facets of the image of women in society are particularly important to him.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
As a figurative realistic working artist, is Reinhard Riedel is fascinated by the transition from adolescence to adulthood. In terms of evolution, here is the phase of greatest beauty. Everything seems possible, everything is open. The world seems waiting for the blossomed adult.
He therefore always work in series. Different materials, different techniques represent these seemingly possible paths to the individual future.
If one then experiments with colors and symbols, then the interpretation by the viewer is added. He judges the work of art in the context of his personal socialization, his experiences and his coming of age. Sometimes in a complete rejection; especially when symbolism is added or the motif polarizes. And the more realistic the portrait is, the more sympathy or antipathy is added, supposedly concerning the person portrayed.
