About the artist
Sharon Covert is a conceptual self-portrait artist and photography teacher/mentor. She teaches photographers to explore and process their emotions and life experiences through self-portraiture and self-expression. Sharon’s goal is for artists to have a creative healing outlet and voice through art and self-exploration. She creates art inspired by Fairytales, Mythology, the Tarot, nature, and all things in the magical realm. You will find hints of these elements threaded throughout her artwork.

Sharon Covert’s captivating self-portraits form a rich tapestry of layered narratives, merging elements of the tangible and intangible. Delving into themes of Fairy Tales, Mysticism, and Surrealism, her work serves as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious realms, creating a dreamlike ambience. Her unique interpretations of Dark Art and Tarot Archetypes serve as potent symbols, guiding viewers on a journey through mysterious landscapes of the mind and spirit.
Drawing from a palette of Symbolism and Mythology, she reimagines timeless narratives in her own distinct voice, putting a new twist on ancient tales. Nature plays a significant role in her work, often serving as the backdrop for her self-portraits, enhancing the sense of transcendence that pervades her creations.
