About the artist
Julia Ulrich is a German-born artist who has always been deeply connected to nature and the creative process. Growing up close to the forest, she eventually built herself a wooden house where she raises her kids and cultivates her own food in a farm-like setting surrounded by sheep, chickens, and an orchard.
From a young age, Julia found solace and inspiration in drawing, painting, and creating. Her passion for a creative life led her to pursue a degree in Fine Arts at Falmouth University in London, after completing her studies and becoming a teacher.
Today, Julia is fortunate to work with several galleries, showcasing her art in exhibitions and art fairs throughout the year. While she cherishes these opportunities, her ultimate goal is to have a solo exhibition one day. Additionally, if she had the means, she dreams of opening a beautiful art retreat, a haven for fellow art-lovers to immerse themselves in creativity and nature.
“Through my art, I aim to capture the beauty of the natural world that surrounds me and share it with others. Each brushstroke, each creation, is a reflection of my deep connection to the earth and my desire to inspire others to see the world through an artist’s eye”.
Ultimately, her goal as an artist is to create works that spark the imagination and encourage viewers to see the world in a different way. Julia believes that through art, we can create new perspectives and find common ground, bridging the gap between reality and fiction to build a deeper understanding of the human experience.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
Julia Ulrich’s arts predominantly explore figurative themes, focusing on the elegance and grace of women adorned in long, flattering skirts. Each piece evokes a fairytale-like atmosphere, inviting viewers into a world where simplicity and enchantment coexist harmoniously. Through her work, Julia delves into the beauty of everyday moments, capturing a sense of tranquility and nostalgia that resonates with those seeking a connection to a more serene and idyllic life. In addition to these scenes, she also experiments with nudes, using the human form to tell deeper, more personal stories. Her paintings intertwine narrative and form, offering a visual storytelling experience that combines the charm of fairytales with the rawness of human emotion.
