About:
‘Through my ongoing research and interest in ancient archaeology, also thanks to my travels last year, I came across the ancient phrase “as above, so below”. It captivated my curiosity and I knew there was a great meaning behind these words. With the origin of this phrase in Arabic coming from the Emerald Tablet, there can be a few but close interpretations. It suggests that what is happening in one realm of existence is also reflected in another. It describes that the microcosm mirrors the macrocosm, and what happens on a small scale will also take place on a large scale. Eternal interconnectedness.
In my art I reflect the goodness of nature, kindness of animals that mimic humans in their best ways possible. I see my artworks as microcosms or bundles of joy ready to share positivity into the macrocosm of the World. The new artworks reflect this phrase in both ways, metaphysical and literal. They unfold scenes above in the sky, below in the water, above among the stars, below in the underground, above the horizon and right in your heart.’
