About the artist
Born in 1976, Yoann Penard has been sculpting for 22 years, stone at first, but very quickly imposed on him as a revelation modeling and ceramics, metal and bronze.
Since 2000, he is based in France near Bordeaux regularly exhibits in the largest places open to expressionism and French fantastic worlds.
Yoann Penard’s works are permanently on display at the Naïa Museum. He obtained the prize of the May fair and the Coubertin foundation in Paris in 2010 and carried out his first public commission for the city of Libourne in 2021.
In his creative ritual, Yoann uses clay modeling, acrylic resins, metal, bronze. His works are permanently available in Keep Contemporary Gallery, O Gallery, Naia Museum, La Monstrueuse Galerie
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
On the borders of contemporary sculpture, Yoann Penard sketched a universe of which he seems to know with infinite precision all the cogs. He is passionate about primitive arts Mythology, fantasy, utopias / dystopias / uchronias, these worlds of the imagination have shaped his reading of the tangible, he tries to extract from them a part of our universal collective history.
