About the artist

Helena Artbook is a self-taught artist living in London, originally from the Czech Republic. Her heroines are divine, dreamy, sensitive, yet very strong women, full of rich life stories. Through her pieces, Helena wishes to shine the light on sensitivity, whether it is feminine or masculine, hoping her viewers will be able to acknowledge a trait not accepted by our modern society.

Her girls often find themselves in difficult situations, yet capable of immense transformation. Helena is passionate about showing that there is light in every misery and that our souls can transform and come out stronger. The beauty of tragedy can be spotted in her pieces as well.

The name Helena Artbook represents not only her art journey but her life journey and evolution as well. Helena wishes to dedicate her brand to showing her unique life path. A lot of her pieces narrate her life in general. The word ,,book” in her art pseudonym represents life chapters and stories.

Helena only started oil painting in 2020 and opened her first Etsy shop the same year. She has been only selling her pieces privately until 2022. Then, she began working with galleries alongside running her store.

Artwork Themes & Subject Matter

Helena Artbook creates pop surrealism, magic realism and fantasy-like themes. Her women have big eyes as well. She also loves exploring deep psychology, therefore, her art is often healing and transformative. Also, themes like duality, self-love, and spirituality are common.
