About the artist
Amy Row is a contemporary artist residing in the United States. Her journey into art began in childhood, deeply influenced by her grandmother who was also an artist, as well as her love for cartoons. What began as simple notebook doodles soon developed into something more. This included her bedroom wall which was a short-lived but remembered masterpiece. Amy’s foundation as an artist is self-taught, but she has enhanced her skills over the years by participating in various workshops and classes. She started as a painter but eventually merged into ceramics. It felt like a natural progression and is now her main focus.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
Amy Row is really drawn to vibrant colors and exaggerated features, yet she still appreciates the simplicity of a basic sketch. Her work is often influenced by the playful energy of pop culture and the raw beauty of the natural world. It’s a unique blend where one brings an immediate boldness while the other rests in the details, like the texture of leaves or hair. Life is complex so the merging of these 2 themes can illustrate the duality of our existence
