About the artist
Nina Murashkina is a multi-disciplinary Ukrainian artist currently based in Spain. Murashkina’s vivid aesthetic is influenced by Ukrainian naive art, Indian and Japanese imagery, as well as ancient mythology. She describes her own artwork as “the delicious details from the Subconscious and the extreme limits allowed in social relations.” Her goddess-like heroines embody the dual nature of the woman: lustful and innocent, provocative and tender, brutally honest and darkly mysterious.“For me, the essence of creativity lies in storytelling, in crafting narratives where all characters are interconnected and live their lives within the story’s framework. I forge my own myth, a world teeming with Eros and Thanatos. Magical feminism shapes my worldview. I interpret reality through my own lens and recreate it in my artworks. The central figure is a woman—a potent force, a triumphant deity who can ride animals, wise men, or even the entire world. This portrayal of women, to me, embodies feminism, infused with magic that amplifies feminine qualities from a mythical perspective”
Nina Murashkina is the Grand Prize Winner of the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize 2025
