About the artist
Born in 1992 in Innsbruck, Austria, Lara Hochreiter have always been captivated by the expressive potential of the human figure. This passion led her to the Barcelona Academy of Art, where she completed her formal training in traditional painting in 2021. Grounded in classical techniques, Lara’s work is rooted in realism, yet it reaches beyond the boundaries of representation to invite imagination and emotion.
Predominantly working in oil, she explores the intersection of precision and poetry—capturing the delicate textures of skin, the nuanced play of light and shadow, and the emotional depth found in gesture and expression. While her foundation lies in academic discipline, her visual language embraces color, movement, and a touch of magic, celebrating both the seen and the felt.
Currently based in Barcelona, Lara practice extends beyond the studio into public spaces, where I also create murals that reflect my love for nature, mythology, and human connection. Whether her painting intimate portraits or expansive landscapes, “my goal is to awaken a sense of wonder—offering viewers a window into the beauty of the real world, filtered through my own artistic lens”.
Through each brushstroke, “I aim to honor the timeless traditions of figurative art while contributing my own voice to its ever-evolving narrative“.
