About the artist
Victoria Virginia spent her childhood wandering the forests and mountains of Kentucky — weaving flower crowns from wild blossoms, imagining fantastical creatures hidden just out of sight, and moving barefoot through moss and sunlight as if she might slip into the fairy realm at any moment. She grew up watching her mother bring entire worlds to life with pencils and paint, a spark that helped ignite the dreamlike spirit that now infuses her art.
At the heart of Victoria’s life is the love of her wife — her grounding force and steady companion. Married in a time when their love was rarely welcomed, her wife’s unwavering support became the wings beneath Victoria’s dream of becoming a full-time artist. Together, they are mothers to two beloved sons, blessings born from struggle, loss, hope, and miracles. The soft rituals of their family life — laughter, tenderness, and the quiet beauty of simply being together — shimmer throughout Victoria’s work and shape its emotional core.
The wonder that once lived in the forests of her childhood now flows through her Virginia Beach studio and into every portrait she creates. Each piece carries echoes of the magical girl she was, the woman she became, and the family who holds her steady — all woven into dreamily storytelling, emotional depth, and gentle transformation.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
Working primarily in graphite, mixed media, oils, and acrylic, Victoria Virginia creates portraits and narrative scenes that explore emotional landscapes, personal transformation, and the mystical intersections of myth, memory, and the divine feminine. Her work drifts between the real and the surreal — a gentle spell of story and feeling intertwined.
Each piece becomes an invitation: to pause, breathe, and feel… to release what weighs heavy… to honor vulnerability… and to rediscover the quiet strength within. Recurring themes include emotional release, metamorphosis, the cycles of life, the sacred softness of the feminine, and the delicate balance between fragility and power.
Victoria is currently developing a series titled Thorn & Petal, a collection rooted in journey, nature, and myth. With multiple pieces already completed, this body of work explores the interplay of human experience, natural landscapes, and symbolic storytelling, continuing her ongoing exploration of transformation and wonder.
Though rooted in fantasy, her work remains deeply human. It reflects the quiet enchantments of her family, the wonder of her childhood forests, and the stories she still carries. The result is a body of work that feels both otherworldly and intimately familiar — dream portals where tenderness and myth mingle, and where magic lingers gently at the edges.
