About the artist
Allison Reimold was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated at Otis College of Art and Design living and working in the city at her studio in Hollywood. Allison works full-time as an art director in the entertainment industry designing and illustrating posters for film and TV, whilst also finding time to paint in the evenings and weekends. She finds inspiration while hiking through the mountains surrounding LA or traveling to far off places and she is followed around all day by her studio assistant and muse, a French bulldog named Penny.
Artwork Themes & Subject Matter
Allison’s work primarily features the female form, female portraiture, and elements of nature, with subtle references to religious themes and iconography, like Eve and the snake in the Garden of Eden. Slightly surreal but grounded with realistic forms and landscapes, and combining modern elements with traditional themes, her works also examines the play of light and shadow as a narrative device.
